Bosetti Sunrise 10K 2023: three weeks after the first marathon

January 1, sunrise, Hawaii Kai. 47:39 and third in the 50-54s, three weeks after 26.2.

The first video of the vlog year is about losing the holiday weight, which tells you what the second half of December looked like at our house once the marathon was done. This race is what we did on the morning of the first day of the year, before the video and before the diet.

A 10K in Hawaii Kai at sunrise on January 1 is a nice idea and not a serious race, and we treated it about that way. For me, it went better than it had any right to: 47:39, third in the 50-54s, three weeks after the first marathon, which nobody expected, least of all me. Michelle ran 1:14:01, fifth in her age group, and wasn't interested in racing a 10K three weeks after 26.2. Honestly, hers was the correct attitude for January 1 and mine was the fluke. Then we went home and started on the holiday weight.
