Na Wahine Sprint 2022: our first triathlon since 2014
A 500-meter swim, 12 miles on the bike, and a 5K, in the first year the race let men in. Both of us, in the middle of a marathon build.
Over the summer of 2022 we started working a little cycling and swimming into the week, mostly to break up the running and give our joints a rest, and at the end of July we signed up for this. It was the first year the Na Wahine sprint was open to men, and it was short: a 500-meter swim, a 12-mile bike, and a 5K run.
It was a lot of fun. That's the honest report, and it's also why it mattered, because after it we kept the swim and the bike in the weekly rotation for variety, and a year later the Honolulu Triathlon and Honu were on the calendar. We don't have the official times in front of us for this one, and the next year Jay came back and did the Kane race on his own.
There's no official time on this page because we don't have one in front of us, and we're not going to make one up. If you've got the official result, send it and it goes here.
