The log restarts

We rebuilt the site at the same address, with the same rules and a lot more of the actual record.

The first version of this site was three race reports, three notes, three lessons, and a page that linked to two videos. It existed, which was about all it did, and it wasn't the written log we'd said it would be. So we rebuilt it, at the same address, with the same rules and a lot more of the actual record.

What's different

Every race since 2014 has a page now, with the video where there is one and an honest blank where there's no official time. The Oahu calendar is a page, month by month, because the local calendar is the backbone of how we plan a year and nobody had written it down from the age-grouper's side. There's a start here page for the person who's 48 and looking at the finisher photos and wondering. The field notes and the lessons are twice as long, and there are more of them.

What a Sunday looks like from here

One note a week, if we did the work, is the deal we're making with the page. It won't be long. It'll say what the week actually looked like, what race is next, and whatever we learned that would survive being told to a friend. When there's a race there's a race report, and it goes up with the video.

If a Sunday goes by without a note, it's usually because the week didn't have anything worth writing down, or because we were tired, and the log is in pencil, same as the plan.

What didn't change

The rules are the same. There are still no made-up results, no coaching, no medical advice, and no funnel for anything. Gear only gets named if it got raced in, and we still don't sell electrolytes. It's the same two Honolulu age-groupers writing about the swim, the bike, the run, and the week around it, written down properly this time.
