Bosetti Sunrise 10K 2025: Jay wins the age group, and I finally break an hour
Under an hour for a 10K for the first time on this site, on a holiday morning I'd planned not to think about too hard. Jay 45:48, first in the 50-54s.
This was our third New Year's Day in a row at sunrise in Hawaii Kai, and since I'm a routine person, it's one of the routines I'd keep even if the race went away. I ran 59:37, under an hour for a 10K for the first time on this site, and third in the 40-44s! Did I plan to break an hour? I planned to run a 10K on a holiday morning and not think about it too hard, and then I saw the 59 on the watch and thought about it plenty, and I'm still thinking about it.
Jay ran 45:48 and was first in the 50-54s. His three New Year's mornings here go 47:39, 50:36, and now 45:48, and the middle one was three weeks after a marathon, while this one was three weeks after a 3:41 marathon and it didn't seem to matter to him at all. I've stopped trying to explain him and I just ride along. The year that followed had two full Ironmans in it, and it started here at sunrise with a podium for each of us.
