Hybrid Design 25K 2022: past the half for the first time

Third race in the 2022 readiness series and the first time I ran farther than a half marathon with a bib on. Jay sat this one out.

This was fifteen and a half miles, two months before my first marathon, and I'd never run past 13.1 with a bib on before it. I honestly didn't know what would happen to me on the far side of a half, and it turns out I kept going, and 3:09:48 is what's on the card.

This is the run that made December believable for me, more than the plan or the training log did. A half marathon tells you that you can do a half, but fifteen and a half tells you that the number on the far side of a half is just a number, and that you can keep adding to it, slowly, okay, very slowly, at 12:39 a mile.

Jay's not on the sheet for this one, and neither of us can remember why, so this was the first long one with only me in it. I finished twenty-first in my age group and 237th overall, and I was fine with running it alone, mostly.
