Kailua 10-Miler 2026: fourth year in the wind
1:34:34 and sixth in the 45-49s, which weren't last year's legs, while Jay ran 1:19:19 for his fourth year in a row on the podium here.
I ran 1:34:34 this year, sixth in the 45-49s, and those weren't last year's legs. I'm fine with that, or at least most of me is fine with that, and the rest of me will get over it. 2026 wasn't built for a fast February. It was built around Honu in May and a mainland 70.3 in August, and a quick 10-miler on the windward side just wasn't on the list.
The wind was in our faces again, the way it is every February out there, and it wasn't the 1:13 of 2025 for Jay either. He ran 1:19:19 for third in the 50-54s, which makes four years in a row on the age-group podium here, so he was slower than last year and still on the podium, which is a very Jay thing to do.
